Well. Now that I have your attention…

Believe me, it’s not what you’re thinking. How do I know what you’re thinking? Well, here you are!

The 2nd annual Grow Your Own Festival will be celebrated here in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 7, 2017. While I could make up a lot of stuff about how wonderful it is – and yes, I do think it is and I have my ticket – I’d rather share excerpts from the press release that I received which immediately piqued my interest. Those of you who are my friends on FaceBook or follow me on Twitter know that I have a real hardon (figure of speech – I’ve always been female, cramps and all, lol) against Monsanto and their ilk. My question is – and it’s never been answered – is why the hell are CHEMICAL companies in charge of our food? And why are they employing “scientists” to alter our food into substances unrecognizable by our bodies, spray poisons at will, and purchase politicians so that they can continue to make money off of our children’s corpses? Plus, they’re pulling out all of the stops to push their lethal “science” to make people think that what they’re doing is for the good of mankind. Health, longevity, and environmental destruction be damned. I could go on.

But there’s a groundswell of resistance happening, and Big Chem is feeling it. People have decided that buying non-GMO and organic – or as it used to be called, “food” – is better for them and better for the environment.

One of those grassroots efforts is the Grow Your Own Festival. My “garden” this year has yielded me some basil, mint, lemongrass, and six tomatoes – one from each plant. Which is why Grow Your Own has my interest; my efforts have been more or less pathetic.
