As the old saw goes, “the best laid plans…” Well, that’s certainly the case here! My plans were to visit a different set of wineries every day during my time in Paso. Take pictures, run video, post!
Well, not so much.
Something has happened during my time here, and that’s called “resting.” At the time that I’m writing this post, I’m having my first cup of coffee and have a load of laundry going. HGTV is on, the door to my deck is open, and I’m enjoying the noontime breeze. The motivation to go out photographing and interviewing is somewhere around zero. But I only have a few days left of this wonderful time off, so I guess I better get a move on.
Now that doesn’t mean that the entire week so far has been one of sloth and laze. Monday was my last day with The Wineaux Guy, had a flight of beers at Firestone Brewery, and Tuesday saw me at Hot Tuesday. More on that later. Get your mind out of the gutter!
I did some exploring at the beach areas (Avila, Pismo, Shell) on Wednesday, and actually visited four wineries yesterday. I will be headed to Cambria and San Simeon in a while because my lungs really, really liked the fresh ocean air. As much as I love the desert, there really is nothing like standing on the beach in the sand and inhaling deeply. Stress, angst, worry, and all those things that are bad for your blood pressure just seem to melt away.
So today is my relaxation day – okay, one of many. I’m going to hate returning to Vegas so soon, but real life beckons.
So stay tuned. I do have LOTS of things to share despite my commitment to laziness!
