Now we’re looking at the San Luis Obispo Wine Trail.  This is a “trail” that’s more or less located around the city of San Luis Obispo and immediate outlying areas.  I’ve been to some of these wineries and they have some of the best wines I’ve ever tasted.  The problem, of course, is that as an everyday working grunt, I can’t afford to join every wine club. Which, believe me, I wanted to do!

And for the interesting stats: the entire wine grape production in San Luis Obispo County is surpassed only by Napa and Sonoma.  It lies just north of Santa Barbara County and together they comprise the southernmost part of the Central Coast AVA.  But I’ll have more on the rest of the CCAVA later when I finish adding the other wine trails and do a wine trail wrapup.  There are scads more “wine trails” in the Paso Robles/Central Coast/Santa Barbara area than I thought was humanly possible.

I must be nuts.
