When I was growing up in Philly, the corner butcher shop was a neighborhood mainstay. It has since been replaced by agribusinesses producing hormone-and-antibiotic injected Frankenbeasts. It feels great to purchase meats that have the flavors that I remember from my childhood.
I discovered that the 2006 Vines on the Marycrest ‘Round Midnight, nicely chilled, makes a luscious and decadent summer drink when the temperature is high, the AC is blowing, and the meds unneeded.
The only downside is that their washable tattoos don’t wash off very easily. I had some explaining to do about the Naked and ZinBitch tattoos that were prominently displayed on my neckline. But that’s another story.
