I spent a lot of days doing little at home other than vegging on my recliner, drinking copious amounts of water (we had an incredible heat wave and I touched little other than water and juice), and watching TV. The good life.
For many years, Nevada wines were known for their relentless mediocrity - they seemed to be White Zinfandel wannabes - and there wasn't much that the serious wine person could glean from them other than a collective meh.
It's not unusual to do an overnight road trip to a "Wine Country" and back over the course of a weekend. Yes, it's so close that even a tourist to Las Vegas could take a couple of days to visit Wine Country. How great is that?
