Oh stop the screaming. There are those of us who can’t suck down an entire bottle of wine in one night! Especially when those wines are of the, um, *value* variety and won’t last much past the evening that they’re opened.
Well, I recently had a tasting at my home with the Tex & Fritz’s wine club, and with over a dozen bottles and about ten people, there was leftover wine. Yes, we love wine, but we’re responsible. Pardon me while I pat myself on the back! The video below explains what I do with leftover wine and how I use it.
In a nutshell, I use Mason jars to freeze the wines instead of an ice tray – where you pour the wine into an ice tray and then put it into plastic freezer bags – because glass is a better keeper than plastic and won’t allow off flavors to damage the wine. Make sure that the size jar is appropriate for your uses and do your best to make sure that the wine is topped off and sealed with genuine Mason/Kerr jar top. Enjoy the video.
And next time you have a little wine that wasn’t finished, try doing what I do! I think that you’ll find that it’s a great way to make sure that your precious wine always has a way to be used.
